The Wanderer's Book of Colors at Way Art Yonder Studio

  • Way Art Yonder Studio Jamul, CA, 91935 USA (map)

Would you love to make your own beautiful book, bag, and talisman full of colors, textures, and patterns?

During this magical three-day workshop at Way Art Yonder Studio, nestled in the hills outside of San Diego, California, we will create amazing pieces reminiscent of medeival times - with an edge!

On the first day we will enjoy different ways to cover the page edges, first with pan pastels and paints, and then with vintage silk. We will also make stone clay beads to use on our book spines. You will love these elegant techniques!

During the second day we will explore stitching, attaching, and collaging simple details on your pages, finally putting your book together in a unique and easy process. The cover will be made out of an antique door hinge! I’ll provide the vintage silks and antique door hinges!

And on the third day we will make our Autumn Talisman out of found objects. Then we’ll create a beautiful felt bag to house and protect both our books and our talismans.

Your will go home with your own handmade creations that together tell the story of the colors, textures and patterns that you love, the things you are grateful for, and memories of a nourishing gathering of like souls. And of course you can keep making books, bags, talismans, beads, and more with the techniques you develop in our time together!
